BRAMPTON, ON - The Brampton Steelheads have been awarded the 3rd overall selection in the 2026 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection following today's draft lottery. This represents the highest draft position in the history of the Steelheads franchise.

The 3rd overall pick marks an important opportunity for the Steelheads as the organization continues to build for the future and strengthen its roster with elite young talent.

"We're excited about the opportunity that comes with selecting third overall," said James Richmond, Head Coach and General Manager of the Brampton Steelheads. "This is a strong draft class, and we are confident our scouting staff has identified players who can make a significant impact in our organization."

The 2026 OHL Priority Selection presented by Real Canadian Superstore will take place in Kingston, Ontario at Slush Puppie Place on June 12 and 13, where the Steelheads will look to add a key piece to their lineup. This marks the first time the OHL has had an in-person draft since 2000.

Further details, including player selections and draft coverage, will be available on the team's website and social media channels.
