Steelheads Acquire Joseph Murdaca from Spirit

Mississauga, ON - The Mississauga Steelheads announced today that they have acquired goaltender, Joseph Murdaca and a ninth round pick in 2018 from the Saginaw Spirit, in exchange for Cameron Zanussi and a fourth round pick in the 2018 OHL Priority Selection.

Murdaca was drafted by the Saginaw Spirit in the 10th round (190th overall) of the 2014 OHL Priority Selection after completing the 2013-14 season with the Hamilton Jr. Bulldogs Midget program. Murdaca, a native of Niagara Falls, ON has been playing in his hometown with its Jr. B club, the Niagara Falls Canucks where he currently holds a 3.09 GAA and .906 SV% through 20 games played.

The Mississsauga Steelheads acquired Zanussi in the 12th round (223rd overall) of the 2012 OHL Priority Selection. A native of Bowmanville, ON, Zanussi has appeared in 26 games for Mississauga with a 4.15 GAA and .878 SV%.
