Timpano is Tops

Sudbury Wolves News Release

Sudbury Wolves goaltender Troy Timpano showed why he is one of the top goaltending prospects for the 2016 NHL Draft by back-stopping the Wolves to a big 4-2 victory in Guelph on Sunday. Timpano was also sharp in Owen Sound on Saturday and gave the Wolves a chance to win the game with a 44-save performance.

Timpano's best outing may have been on Friday night against the high-powered London Knights. Timpano, made several highlight-reel saves on Knights sharp-shooters Christian Dvorak and Matthew Tkachuk in the contest. Timpano ended the contest with 35 saves and could have sued the Wolves' skaters for lack-of-support as the Knights entered the Wolves zone in waves.

All totalled, Timpano faced a total of 131 shots and made 116 saves for a respectable save percentage of .885. This all came after a period of time where the 18 year old Pickering native missed over two months of OHL playing time after nursing a nagging foot injury. Timpano has made a full recovery from the injury and is back in the pipes displaying his positive personality and providing leadership to his teammates on the ice and in the dressing room.
