Right-handed pitcher Jonathan Roberts came into the game in the fifth inning for the Pilots and promptly gave up three straight singles and one run. Wes Meadows (Otterbein University), who singled to begin the inning, scored on Michael Massi's (Mercer University) RBI single to make it 2-0 Steamers. DJ Johnson laid down a sacrifice bunt and then a wild pitch thrown by Meyers allowed Blaise Fernandez (George Mason University) to score and it was 3-0 Steamers.

Peninsula got on the board in the bottom of the fifth after a Tyler Shover leadoff double and an infield single from Dakari Cooke that put runners on first and third. Zac MacAneney hit into four-three double play that brought home Shover from third and made the score 3-1 Steamers.

Branstetter pitched five innings, allowing the one run on five hits; he walked three and struck out four. He departed in line for his first win of the season, up 3-1.

Andrew Amaro laid down a sacrifice bunt that moved up both runners 90 feet and Roberto Duran hit a sacrifice fly to right field that scored Gino Escalante to make it 3-2 Steamers.

Edenton failed to score in the top of the seventh and right-handed pitcher Jordan Egan (Norfolk State University) came into the game to close out the 3-2 Steamer victory.
