Octavio Mirabal imporved to 5-0, matching Spencer's seven shutout frames. Mirabal surrendered just one hit, a bunt down the third base line. Besides that, he impressed all night.

Zach Vennaro scooped his second save, fanning three batters in two scoreless innings.

For the Clams, Tyler Jones tallied the only hit for the Steamers. Ben Whetstone also reach on a walk.

On Morehead City's end, Hunter Shepherd led the way with three singles. Alex Pimentel logged the only other base knock for the Marlins.

Craig Lewis finished with the only run batted in.

The Steamers return to action on August 2 on the road against Wilson set for 7 p.m.
