-SPIKES CONTINUE SEASON-ENDING SERIES TONIGHT: The State College Spikes play the second game of their a three-game series to complete the 2011 regular season tonight as they face the Williamsport Crosscutters at Historic Bowman Field. This year's edition of the SawBuck Series currently stands at 6-4 in favor of Williamsport. The Crosscutters' elimination number in both the Pinckney Division and Wild Card races now stands at 1.

-LAST GAME: Matt Skirving cleared the bases with a three-run, eighth-inning double to give the Spikes a 3-2 victory over the Crosscutters and hamper their postseason chances on Friday night at Historic Bowman Field. Skirving's two-base hit to right field capped off a State College rally that started with two outs in the eighth inning. Junior Sosa reached base on a fielding error to start the comeback, with Alen Hanson following by producing an infield single. Alex Dickerson then singled just past the infield to give Skirving his opportunity.

-BENEDICT STARTS FOR SPIKES TONIGHT: Right-hander Matt Benedict gets the ball to start for State College this evening. The right-hander hurled five scoreless innings against Batavia last time out, allowing three hits and a walk while striking out two. Benedict has allowed just one earned run over 20 innings, racking up a 0.45 ERA for his last four starts.

-KLEVEN ON MOUND FOR 'CUTTERS: Right-hander Colin Kleven is slated to start for the Crosscutters tonight. Kleven allowed two runs on four hits and four walks over five innings last time out against Mahoning Valley, striking out a season-high six in the process. Kleven, the 33rd-round draft pick of the Phillies in 2009, is 3-3 with a 3.83 ERA in nine home starts.

-NEW FACES JOIN SPIKES: Seven players from the Gulf Coast League Pirates have joined the Spikes over the last week. Pitcher Cesar Lopez,infielder Alen Hanson, and outfielders Willy Garcia and Gregory Polanco have each made their Spikes debut.
