
Crosscutters drop second straight to Spikes

GAME HIGHLIGHTS: The Williamsport Crosscutters dropped their second straight game to the State College Spikes, mustering just four hits in a 7-2 loss at Historic Bowman Field on Saturday.
The Cutters broke a scoreless tie in the bottom of the first, as Maikel Franco's RBI forceout made it 1-0. State College snatched the lead in third, using Jose Osuna's RBI double and Alex Dickerson's RBI single to make it 2-1.
Each team picked up a run in the fourth inning to make it a 3-2 ballgame. Bob Stumpo singled and scored on a fielding error for the Cutters in the frame. State College added another run in the fifth, as Dan Gamache's RBI fielder's choice out gave the Spikes a 4-2 lead.
Gamache put his team further ahead in the seventh inning, highlighting a three-run frame with a two-run triple to left, putting his team ahead 7-2.
That score would hold for a final, as the Spikes picked up their fifth win in the 2011 SawBuck series.
