Wappingers Falls, NY - A scoreless game through seven innings, the Aberdeen IronBirds finally broke through for a run against the Hudson Valley Renegades bullpen in the eighth Saturday night at Dutchess Stadium. The one run was enough as the IronBirds won 1-0.

IronBirds starting pitcher Tyler Wilson pitched six scoreless innings. He allowed three hits and struck-out six. On the other side, Jacob Partridge pitched six shutout innings as well. The game would be decided by the bullpens.

T.J. Geith came in to pitch for the Renegades in the seventh. He found himself in trouble in the eighth. Glynn Davis led off the inning with a double. Martin Serrata laid down a bunt to the left side. Geith threw it to third but Davis slid in safely. A batter later, Joe Velleggia hit a sacrifice fly to center, making it 1-0.

Zach Fowler (2-0) earned the win after 2.1 scoreless innings of relief. Geith (0-1) took the loss. Luis Lebron (1) recorded the final two outs for the save.

The IronBirds will play their final game of the 2011 season Sunday evening at Dutchess Stadium. Right-hander Jose Mota (1-4, 6.45) will get the start for Aberdeen. He'll go up against right-hander Trevor Shull (0-2, 4.91). First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM.
