-SPIKES LOOK FOR HOME WIN #2: The State College Spikes will try to knot up their series agains the Auburn Doubledays tonight at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park in the second game of a three-game set between the two teams. The all-time series between the two teams sits at 26-25 in favor of the Spikes.

-LAST GAME: In a back and forth battle, the State College Spikes came back from a 3-0 deficit to tie the game and had the winning run at bat in the ninth before dropping a 7-6 decision to the Auburn Doubledays in Stetson Allie's pro debut at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park on Monday night. Justin Bencsko produced a 3-for-5 performance in his first start as a Spike in 2011, with two runs scored and a run batted in. Samuel Gonzalez knocked in a total of three runs, and went 2-for-2 along with his pair of sacrifice flies. Kyle Singer went 2-for-3 with two doubles, picking up an RBI himself as well.

-RODRIGUEZ TO START FOR SPIKES: Left-hander Joely Rodriguez will head to the mound for State College tonight. Rodriguez made his first appearance of the year in the Spikes' season opener at WIlliamsport, allowing an unearned run on four hits over two innings of work on Friday. The Dominican southpaw returns to the Spikes after making two appearances with State College in 2010.

-BATES GETS THE BALL FOR AUBURN: The Doubledays continue the three-game series against the Spikes with right-hander Colin Bates on the mound. Like Rodriguez, Bates has already made one relief appearance this year, earning the save against Batavia on Friday by ending the game with four scoreless innings of relief.

-NEW AFFILIATION FOR DOUBLEDAYS: 2011 marks the first year that the Auburn Doubledays are a Nationals affiliate, after previously being affiliated with the Toronto Blue Jays.
