-SPIKES CONTINUE ROAD TRIP IN VERMONT TONIGHT: The State College Spikes, who are tied with Hudson Valely for the best record in the New York-Penn League, keep a six-game road trip going tonight with the last of three games against the Vermont Lake Monsters at Centennial Field. Although the Spikes' six-game winning streak and their five-game winning streak on the road both came to an end last night, the Spikes are still 13-2 over their last 15 game.s State College made its last trip to Vermont in 2012, dropping all three games as a Pirates affiliate. The Lake Monsters are the Spikes' first opponents from the Stedler Division this year. State College occupies first place in the NYPL Pinckney Division by five-and-a-half games over Batavia. The Spikes are 13-11 all-time against Vermont, including a 4-8 mark at Centennial Field.

-LAST GAMES: Collin Radack smashed his first professional home run, but the State College Spikes saw their winning streak snapped at six games as they dropped an 8-6 decision to the Vermont Lake Monsters on Thursday night at Centennial Field.

Radack's three-run homer down the left field line extended the Spikes' lead to 4-0 in the second inning. However, Vermont battled back with a run in the bottom of the frame and three more in the fourth to take a 5-4 lead.

In the sixth inning, State College regained the lead. Alex De Leon led off the inning by reaching base on an error, and Rowan Wick followed with a single. Jake Stone then tied the game at 5-5 with an RBI groundout, and three batters later, Chase Raffield singled to score Wick and give the Spikes a 6-5 lead.

The Lake Monsters would tie the game at 6-6 on a double-play ball in the sixth, though, and would take the lead for good in the eighth on Yairo Munoz's solo homer to left and Jose Brizuela's run-scoring, two-out single.

-ANDERSON LOOKS TO KEEP WIN STREAK GOING TONIGHT: Right-hander Will Anderson will make the start for State College tonight after winning each of his last three starts. Last time out, Anderson allowed three runs on six hits and a walk over 5 2/3 innings for the win against Staten Island. The Pleasanton, CA native also struck out three in the effort, and has recorded 25 strikeouts to just four walks over 29 2/3 innings this year. Anderson is making his first road start of the year in six outings, but went 1-2 with a 2.74 ERA in six road appearances with Johnson City in 2013. The Cal State-Monterey Bay product was taken by the Cardinals in the 26th round of the 2013 MLB Draft.

-BURKE GETS BALL FOR LAKE MONSTERS: Left-hander Jerad Grundy, Oakland's 10th-round draft choice in 2013, makes the start for Vermont this evening. Grundy, who was selected out of the University of Kentucky by the Athletics last year, is making his team-leading seventh start of the year. The Johnsburg, IL native has not allowed more than three runs in any start this year, and has not made a start shorter than 4 2/3 innings. Grundy has allowed left-handed hitters just a .158 average on the season.

-WICK IT...WICK IT REAL GOOD : Rowan Wick has continued to keep up his early pace, notching his league-leading 13th homer of the year two nights ago. The North Vancouver, BC native is currently bidding for the NYPL's Triple Crown, as he is leading the loop with 35 RBI and his .375 average is just behind the .385 of Tri- City's Bobby Boyd for the league lead. Wick is also leading the league in on-base percentage (.484), slugging percentage (.808), extra-base hits (19), runs scored (27), total bases (84), and intentional walks (three). His 39 hits are

-SPIKE MARKS: Jake Stone holds a 12-game hit streak, the fourth-longest active streak among NYPL players...Stone is hitting .381 with three homers and 16 RBI in 12 July games...Robelys Reyes saw his 13-game hit streak end Saturday...Rowan Wick has a 22-game on-base streak, second only to J.D. Davis's 23-game string for Tri-City, which has ended...Wick has reached base in all 17 home games this year...Jacob Booden's 13 appearances are the most in the NYPL
