-SPIKES BEGIN SECOND HALF OF HOMESTAND TONIGHT: The State College Spikes, leaders of the New York-Penn League's Pinckney Division, welcome a new opponent to Medlar FIeld at Lubrano Park tonight as they continue a six-game homestand with the first game of a three-game set against the Staten Island Yankees. The Yankees currently sit in third place in the New York-Penn League McNamara Division. The Spikes are first in the Pinckney Division by 3 1/2 games over Batavia. State College is 10-14 all-time against Staten Island, including a 6-6 mark at home against the Cyclones. Staten Island has not visited Medlar Field at Lubrano Park since 2012.

-LAST NIGHT: Alex De Leon knocked in three runs to lead the State College Spikes' attack, and the Spikes came back to defeat the Brooklyn Cyclones, 4-3, in a rubber match between the two teams on Friday night at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park.

De Leon started the scoring with a two-run double in the first inning that was lined to the base of the 410-foot marker in the left-center field National Penn Bank Nook. In the seventh inning, the Kansas product ended the scoring with an RBI single through a drawn-in infield to break a 3-3 tie.

The Spikes trailed, 3-2, heading into the fifth inning. However, Luis Cruz led off the inning with a walk, and after a one-out single by Darren Seferina, Robleys Reyes singled home Cruz to knot the score.

Kyle Grana logged 2 1/3 innings of scoreless relief for the win. Grana gave up a hit and a walk while recording five strikeouts. Joe Scanio picked up his second save in as many nights by recording the last two outs of the game.

-ANDERSON LOOKS FOR ANOTHER STRONG START TONIGHT: Right-hander Will Anderson seeks to replicate his Sunday success at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park with another good performance on this Saturday night. Anderson has tossed seven innings in each of his last two starts, striking out 10 Williamsport batters two Sundays ago to set a Spikes record. The Pleasanton, CA followed that up by allowing just two runs on five hits for a win over Jamestown this past Sunday. Anderson was the Cardinals' 26th-round draft choice last year out of Cal State-Monterey Bay, and has walked just three batters this year. The righty has gone 15 innings without walking a batter.

-AGNEW-WIELAND STARTS FOR YANKEES TONIGHT: Right-hander Sam Agnew-Wieland makes his fourth start and sixth appearance of the year for Staten Island tonight. Agnew-Wieland went three innings against Aberdeen in the second game of a doubleheader this past Monday. The Marietta, GA native took the loss after giving up two runs on five hits, two walks and a hit batsman while striking out four. Agnew-Wieland is in his second year with Staten Island after being drafted by the Yankees in the 24th round last year out of Appalachian State. In 2013, Agnew-Wieland went 2-4 for the Yankees with one save and a 3.72 ERA over 17 appearances, including one start.

-WICK IT...WICK IT REAL GOOD : Rowan Wick grabbed more laurels to begin the 2014 season as he earned the St. Louis Cardinals Player of the Month award last Wednesday and set the Spikes' single-season home run record with his 11th homer later that night. Wick has continued his torrid start to the year, notching his 12th homer of the year on Tuesday. The North Vancouver, BC native is currently bidding for the NYPL's Triple Crown, as he added to his league-leading total with his 31st RBI of the year two nights ago, and his .385 average puts him back atop the league hitting race.

-SPIKE MARKS: The Spikes are undefeated on Fridays with a 5-0 mark...State College turned a season-high three double plays last night...The Spikes' 2.68 team ERA is second in the league behind Hudson Valley (2.51)...The Spikes have scored 151 runs on the season, the most in the NYPL...Brian O'Keefe has been hit by six pitches this season, and is in the NYPL lead in that category...Wick leads the NYPL with a .495 on-base percentage and .852 slugging percentage...Jacob Booden is tied with Staten Island's Andury Acevedo for the most pitching appearances in the NYPL this year with 11
