-SPIKES FINISH SERIES AGAINST JAMMERS: The State College Spikes' six-game homestand rolls on tonight as they welcome the Williamsport Crosscutters to Medlar Field at Lubrano Park in the first game of a three-game series. Williamsport has won four of the six games between the two teams this season, while State College has won two of the three meetings at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. Williamsport leads the all-time series, 36-30.

-LAST GAME: The State College Spikes took the opening lead of Thursday's game on Roderrick Jones's RBI single, but the Jamestown Jammers responded with a pair of home runs as part of a 13-hit barrage to take an 11-4 victory at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. Jones knocked in Junior Sosa with his single to right field in the opening frame to notch his second run batted in with the Spikes and give State College a 1-0 lead. Jamestown came back with a four-run second inning, however, including Ryan Goetz's two-run homer. Alex Fuselier had two hits for the Spikes, while Derek Trent and Chris Lashmet each doubled.

-JEFFERSON LOOKS TO JUMPSTART SPIKES: Left-hander Mike Jefferson gets the ball to start for State College tonight. Jefferson allowed two runs over five innings in a loss to Auburn on Sunday, but struck out a career-high six batters in the process. The Louisiana Tech product has a 1-2 record with a 3.86 ERA as a starter in five appearances. Jefferson has a 1.29 ERA in the month of August, with a 14:6 strikeout-to-walk ratio.

-STEWART MAKES NYPL DEBUT FOR 'CUTTERS: In a change to the rotation, right-hander Ethan Stewart takes the mound for his first outing in the New York-Penn League after getting a promotion from the Rookie-level Gulf Coast League. Stewart went 4-4 with a 3.62 ERA in 11 starts for the GCL Phillies, with 54 strikeouts and 21 walks in 54 2/3 innings. The righty was the Phillies' 47th-round draft choice in 2010 out of New Mexico Junior College.
