Cutters Snap Slide in Win over Spikes

The Williamsport Crosscutters snapped a four-game losing streak Friday night, pounding out 11 hits in a 6-1 victory over the State College Spikes.

The Spikes notched a run in the bottom of the first, as Rodarrick Jones' two-out RBI double off Ethan Stewart brought home Alex Dickerson for a 1-0 lead.

Williamsport knotted it 1-1 in the top of the third, as Taylor Black led off with a triple and scored two batters later on a sac fly by Francisco Diaz. They added three runs on three hits in fifth, highlighted by an RBI double by Diaz and an RBI single to right by Kyrell Hudson.

The Cutters added to their lead again in the sixth, as Black knocked his second RBI single of the evening to extend the visitors' lead to 5-1. They made it 6-1 in the top of the ninth after another RBI single by Hudson.

Williamsport relievers Matt Campbell, Gabriel Arias, and Juary Gomez combined for five shutout innings of relief.
