
Stars Shoot To Victory Over South Bay

El Segundo, Calif. - The Salt Lake City Stars (4-8), the official NBA G League affiliate of the Utah Jazz, snapped a three-game losing streak with a 114-112 victory over the South Bay Lakers (8-4) (Los Angeles Lakers Affiliate), on Friday night at the UCLA Health Training Center.
All five Stars starters reached double-figures. Utah jazz two-way guard Johnny Juzang scored 24 points to lead the way, including the game winning shot on a step back three with just 7.9 seconds remaining. Utah Jazz assignment player Brice Sensabaugh, added 22 points, six rebounds, and three steals, as the leading man off the bench. Utah Jazz two-way guard Jason Preston, picked up another double-double performance, flirting with a near triple double, with 11 points, 10 assists, and eight rebounds. Meanwhile, Romeo Langford tallied 14 points, eight rebounds, and three assists in his return to the starting lineup.
Salt Lake City's defense clamped down out of the gate, not allowing a South Bay basket for over four minutes, while building a 27-17 first quarter lead. The Stars offense remained consistent, as 11 points from Juzang in the second quarter pushed the Stars lead to 56-41 after 24 minutes of play.
In the third, Salt Lake City and South Bay could not miss, scoring 71 points combined in the quarter. The Stars stretched their lead to its largest at 18 with 7:22 left in the third. In the fourth, the Stars saw their lead fall to single digits, before disappearing for the first time with just 32 seconds remaining, as the Lakers took a 110-109 lead. Salt Lake City fought on, getting the ball in the hands of Juzang, who sank his fifth three-pointer of the night, securing the win 114-112.
South Bay guard Shaquille Harrison powered the Lakers with his 17 point, 12 rebound, and 12 assist triple-double, adding six steals. South Bay guard Bryce Hamilton, led the Lakes in scoring off the bench with 25 points to go along with his five rebounds.
The Stars return home to the Maverik Center on Tuesday to close out the month of January as they face-off against the Rip City Remix. The contest tips off at 7:00 p.m. MT and will be broadcast LIVE on ESPN+.
