
Stars Rally Past Warriors to Grab Fifth-Straight Win

SALT LAKE CITY - The Western Conference-leading Salt Lake City Stars overcame a 13-point deficit to earn their fifth-straight win tonight, defeating the Santa Cruz Warriors 101-95 at Bruin Arena.
The Stars were led by Mike Scott, who tallied 20 points on 6-of-10 (.600) shooting to go with four assists and three rebounds off the bench. Rayjon Tucker, currently on assignment from the Utah Jazz, and Jazz two-way player Justin Wright-Foreman posted 17 points apiece, while Isaac Haas nabbed his second consecutive double-double with 10 points and a game-high-tying 13 rebounds.
The Warriors were led by Andrew Harrison, who scored a game-high 24 points on 7-of-11 (.636) from the field and 6-of-10 (.600) from three. Deyonta Davis recorded a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds, and Jonathon Simmons added 18 points, six rebounds and three assists.
The Warriors opened the game on a 10-0 run and held a three-point advantage (27-24) at the end of the first period. Santa Cruz expanded its lead to 12 points (50-38) in the second quarter, but Salt Lake City closed the frame on a 12-4 run to narrow the lead to two points (61-59) at intermission. The Stars knocked down the first points in the third quarter to tie the game at 61-all, but the Warriors responded with a 15-2 run to take their largest lead of the game at 13 points (76-63). Salt Lake City closed the gap and trailed by six points heading into the final frame, ultimately outscoring the Warriors 29-17 in the period to secure the victory.
Tonight's game was "Buster's Birthday and Teddy Bear Toss Night presented by Mark Miller Subaru," where fans were able to purchase a ticket package to the game that included a teddy bear. Each teddy bear was thrown onto the court at halftime and will be donated to the West Jordan Police Department for use by officers and victim advocates to provide comfort to children.
Salt Lake City will conclude its three-game homestand with "Jazz Gaming Night presented by Zions Bank" on Friday, March 6 against the Iowa Wolves (Minnesota Timberwolves affiliate). The game will feature members of Jazz Gaming, the official NBA 2K League affiliate of the Utah Jazz, in attendance and esports activities throughout the evening. It will tip off at Bruin Arena at 7 p.m. (MT) and will be streamed on NBAGLeague.com.
