SALT LAKE CITY - The Salt Lake City Stars (9-13) , the official NBA G League affiliate of the Utah Jazz, fell in the second game of their back-to-back set, 131-113, to the Osceola Magic (13-7) (Orlando Magic affiliate), Tuesday night at the Maverik Center.
All Salt Lake City starters scored in double-figures. Utah Jazz two-way player Micah Potter, once again led the Stars, notching his second consecutive double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds, along with eight assists. Isaiah Miller came off the bench for the Stars to secure 17 points, serve eight assists, and grab four rebounds, in 26 minutes of action. Former Santa Clara Bronco, Keshawn Justice, joined the Stars' starting lineup, adding 17 points, five rebounds, and one assist on the night.
Salt Lake City got off to a slow start, trailing Osceola by as many as 15 in the first half. However, the Stars cut into the Magic's lead in the second quarter, closing the gap to within five as they headed into the break, 67-54. The Osceola team would again extend their lead to double-digits in the fourth quarter, leaving the Stars unable to overcome the deficit before falling to the Magic, 131-113.
Magic forward D.J. Wilson paced all scorers with 35 points, adding an impressive nine rebounds, and seven assists. Two-time NBA Slam Dunk Contest winner Mac McClung, contributed 22 points, five assists, and two rebounds for the Magic. Meanwhile, guard Alex Morales came off the bench to net 20 points on seven-of-ten from the field, and a perfect two-of-two from beyond the arc.
The Stars travel west, heading to Stockton for a single-game face-off against the Stockton Kings on Saturday, March 2. The game will be streamed live on NBAGLeague.com., and tip-off at 6 p.m. MT.
The team then returns to the Maverik Center to take on the Texas Legends (Dallas Mavericks affiliate) in a back-to-back on Tuesday, March 5, and Thursday, March 7. The series tips off at 7:00 p.m. MT at the Maverik Center and will be broadcast LIVE on Jazz+ and ESPN+.
