Herd Defeated by Go-Go

OSHKOSH, Wis. - The Wisconsin Herd, NBA G League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks, lost to the Capital City Go-Go 120-115.

Milwaukee Bucks two-way players TyTy Washington Jr. (22 points) and Ryan Rollins (18 points) led the Herd in scoring. Wenyen Gabriel added a double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds.

Capital City's top scorer was Jared Butler with 21 points followed by Jules Bernard with 17 points.

Capital City got the game started by converting a shot from beyond the arc to take the first lead. The Go-Go continued to increase the lead until Wisconsin came back to tie the game behind a Ryan Rollins' three. Both teams stayed quiet until midway through the first quarter when Elijah Hughes sunk two consecutive shots to turn the game in favor of the Herd. Capital City was quick to answer, sending the game into a battle with three lead changes in a minute. Eventually, the Herd ran away with 10 straight points to give them a nine-point headstart. The Go-Go challenged by cutting the lead to four but the Herd held on to a 31-24 advantage at the end of the first quarter.

The Go-Go knocked down a shot from deep to make it a four-point game at the beginning of the second quarter. Wisconsin countered with nine unanswered points to go up 40-27. Capital City threw in a few baskets to challenge the lead, but Wisconsin pushed ahead by 16 halfway through the quarter. The teams traded baskets keeping the Herd's lead between 13-16 until consecutive three-pointers by TyTy Washington Jr. broke the cycle. Anthony Tarke sealed a last-minute basket to end the half in favor of the Herd 68-52. TyTy Washington Jr. guided Wisconsin with 14 points in the first half.

Glenn Robinson III secured a two-point jump shot giving the Herd a near 20-point edge to begin the third quarter. Capital City hit a hot streak outscoring the Herd 18-9 to come within nine at the six-minute mark. Wisconsin slowed the Go-Go with sequential shots to put them ahead by double-digits. Capital City grabbed back the momentum converting a 13-2 run to make it a two-point game. Elijah Hughes connected on a three-point shot to break up the Go-Go's run. With 30 seconds remaining, a fast break dunk put Capital City ahead for the first time this half. The Go-Go scored two free throws but a three-pointer from Sam Daniels tied the game 91-91 at the end of the third quarter.

Elijah Hughes and Sam Daniel combined for five points to give the Herd the go-ahead to start the fourth quarter. Wisconsin remained in control by as much as five points until the Go-Go scored three straight buckets to even the game. TyTy Washington Jr. secured a layup, but Capital City threw down a dunk accompanied by a free throw to take the lead 108-106. The Herd answered every Go-Go basket causing the teams to tie three times in two minutes. A three-pointer by Ryan Rollins pushed the Herd over the top 115-114 with a minute remaining. The Go-Go scored a layup and then added a pair of free throws to go ahead by three at 30 seconds. Two missed baskets and a foul by the Herd put Capital City at the line where they converted two free throws to increase the lead to five points. Wisconsin missed their last attempt shot resulting in a Capital City win 120-115.

The Herd will return home for a back-to-back series against the Maine Celtics starting Friday, March 1st with tip-off at 7:00 p.m. CST.
