College Park Takes First Of Two Games Against Cleveland Charge

College Park, Georgia. - The College Park Skyhawks (13-10) defeated the Cleveland Charge (10-12) 100-82 to open a six-game homestand at Gateway Center Arena.

The Skyhawks forced 24 Charge turnovers, tying a season-high for turnovers forced and the most since Dec. 19 against the Ontario Clippers.

Trent Forrest was responsible for six of those turnovers, swiping a career-high six steals, in addition to a team-high tying 16 points and seven assists in 32 minutes.

Not far behind Forrest was Miles Norris, who also poured in 16 points on 4-9 shooting from beyond the arc, marking his seventh game of the season with four-or-more triples.

In his first game since October and in his Skyhawks debut, Mouhamed Gueye netted 10 points on 5-7 shooting from the field, in addition to four rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block in 16 minutes off the bench.

Chris Silva corralled a team-high 10 rebounds, his 13th game of the season with 10-or-more boards, while Jordan Bowden (14 points), AJ Griffin (13 points), and Rob Baker (10 points) all notched double digits.

College Park broke open a back-and-forth game with an 18-7 run behind a barrage of three-pointers from Jordan Bowden, AJ Griffin and Rob Baker.

The Charge followed with its own push behind 10 third quarter points from Emoni Bates, cutting the deficit to as low as six before College Park would take a double-digit lead for good with 4:42 left to play in the third.

The Skyhawks held Cleveland to 40 and 42 points at the end of both halves, which marked the 18th and 19th halves of the regular season College Park has held an opponent to 50-or-less, the most in the league.

Cleveland was led by the duo of Emoni Bates (24) and Craig Porter Jr. (20) who combined for 44 points, while Isaiah Mobley collected his 10th double-double of the season behind 10 points and 12 rebounds.

The Skyhawks hold a 13-10 record heading into the final month of the season, sitting at fifth place in the East with 11 games remaining in the regular season.

College Park will take on the Charge for the second game in a row on Mar. 1 for 'Military Appreciation Night presented by VyStar Credit Union', followed by a 2pm matinee against the G League Ignite on Mar. 3 for 'Kids Day presented by Planet Fitness'.
