GREENSBORO, N.C.) - Amari Bailey set a season-high 36 points on Wednesday evening, but it wasn't enough as the Greensboro Swarm, the NBA G League affiliate of the Charlotte Hornets, fell 133-131 to the Delaware Blue Coats (Philadelphia 76ers affiliate) at the Novant Health Fieldhouse.

With the loss, the Swarm slide to 9-13 on the year, while the Blue Coats' victory keeps them atop the Eastern Conference at 16-6.

Midway through the first quarter, the Blue Coats jumped out to a 12-6 lead and eventually surged ahead to a 12-point advantage with only a few minutes left in the period. However, the Swarm found their offensive rhythm behind big man Jeremiah Tilmon Jr. and strung together an 8-0 run to close the quarter. Tilmon Jr.'s impressive performance off the bench provided a much-needed spark for the Swarm, as he contributed 11 points in the quarter to cut Delaware's lead to 28-26.

Bailey recorded 15 points in the second quarter to give Greensboro a 63-57 lead at the half. The Two-Way guard led all scorers at the break with 19 points and was a perfect 4-of-4 from the charity stripe. The Swarm led by as many as nine points in the frame, yet the Blue Coats produced a counterattack from the likes of Patrick McCaw and Terquavion Smith to minimize the damage going into the second half.

In the third quarter, both sides attacked the basket fast and often and combined. While the lead was only swapped once in the first half, the Swarm and Blue Coats traded the top spot 13 times in the third alone. For Delaware, Kenneth Lofton Jr. tallied nine points in the period and gave the Blue Coats a 101-97 lead at the quarter's end.

Much like the opening of the contest, Delaware pieced together an offensive to reclaim a sizeable 14-point lead. Yet a resilient Greensboro squad fought back to trim the lead to three points, 131-128, with seven seconds following a pair of made free throws from Jaylen Sims. However, the home team's rally fell just short at the end of the night and the visitors escaped with the win.

In addition to Bailey's season-best performance, Tilmon Jr. recorded 22 points, his sixth game with 20-plus points, and was an efficient 10-of-12 from the field. Forward R.J. Hunter finished the night with 20 points, which included six three-point baskets in 27 minutes.

Seven Blue Coats ended the contest in double figures. Lofton Jr. earned a double-double with 32 points and 10 boards, and Jeff Dowtin Jr. also picked up a double-double with 21 points and 12 assists. Melvin Frazier Jr. and Smith had 19 points each, McCaw finished with 18 points, Aminu Mohammed contributed 11 points and Jarron Cumberland notched 10 points respectively.

The Swarm are set to rematch the Blue Coats at 7 p.m. ET on Friday at the Novant Health Fieldhouse.
