Lincoln Stars News Release

Lincoln, Neb. - Stars defenseman Liam Schioler and three affiliates were placed on the NHL Central Scouting Preliminary September "Players to Watch" list released on Tuesday morning.

Affiliate goalie Tommy Nappier, defenseman Adam Karashik and defenseman Carter Long joined Schoiler on the list - putting four members of the Stars organization on the professional radar.

"I think anytime any player from your organization is recognized by the NHL it's significant and speaks volumes about that player's ability, character and work ethic," Stars General Manager Jon Hull said. " The real test from here is what that player does after being recognized."

NHL CSS gave Schoiler and the three affiliates C Ratings, indicating they're likely to be selected between the 4th to 6th rounds of the NHL draft. Each player was born in 1998 and will be eligible for this upcoming draft.

Schioler, listed at 6'3", 200 lbs., hails from West St. Paul, Manitoba. Prior to coming to Lincoln, he attended Shattuck-St. Mary's where he played from his bantam to midget years. He posted one goal and 11 assists during 42 games in his final season. He has one assist through his first two games in the USHL.

Nappier will spend this season with the Springfield Jr. Blues of the North American Hockey League while Karashik will join Avon Old Farms School in Connecticut and Long will play for the Selects Hockey Academy in the U18 United States Premier Hockey League.

The Stars return to the Ice Box Friday, Oct. 2 vs. the Omaha Lancers. For tickets and more information please call 402-474-STAR or log on to lincolnstars.com.
