Salt Lake City Stars News Release
SALT LAKE CITY - The Stars lost their second game of the 2022 G League Showcase Cup in a 107-117 road loss to the Ontario Clippers at Crypto.com Arena and are now 2-2 on the year.
Salt Lake City was led by two Utah Jazz two-way players, Micah Potter and Johnny Juzang. Potter logged 20 points going 2-of-2 from the three-point line and 4-for-4 on free throws, along with eight rebounds, two assists and one block. Juzang also added 20 points, shooting 7-of-14 from the field, netting six three-pointers, along with two rebounds and one assist.
Guard Frank Jackson led the bench once again, registering 17 points (6-of-15 FG and 2-of-2 FT), grabbing three boards, and handing out two assists in 30 minutes of play.
After being down 77-85 going into the fourth quarter, the Stars were able to cut the lead to six, 100-106, with 5:18 remaining in the final period with help from Juzang's three-point-shot and 14 fourth quarter points. Although the Stars kept the pace from start to finish, the hometown Clippers used time to their advantage, going 5-for-9 at the three-point line as the clock slowly fell in the final stretch to catch a victory.
Ontario's Moussa Diabate finished with 24 points and 10 boards with Xavier Moon adding 22 points off the bench.
The Stars next matchup is on Nov. 18 on the road against the G League Ignite at 8 p.m. MT.
