
Stars Fall 5-2 to Lancers

Omaha, Neb. - Backed by a three-goal first period, the Lancers handed the Stars a 5-2 loss on Saturday at Ralston Arena.
Will D'Orsi opened the scoring, putting the Stars on the board at 6:18 of the first period with a wrist shot from the slot that beat Lancers goalie Zach Skog blocker side.
The goal marked D'Orsi's fifth of the season.
Lancers forward Nick Rivera made it 1-1 less than one minute later, before Hank Crone and Austin Alger added two more to give Omaha a 3-1 lead at the first intermission.
After failing to capitalize on three consecutive power plays in the second, the Stars allowed another goal at 12:05 of the period - giving Lancers forward Matthew Meier his second of the season.
The Stars were unable to close the gap in the third period - getting their lone goal from Patrick Polino.
Lincoln outshot Omaha 37 to 27 and Stars goalie Peyton Jones made 21 saves in the game.
