Stars can't solve Peoria

DES MOINES, IA - The Iowa Stars donned their green away jerseys for the first time in franchise history when they visited the Peoria Rivermen on Saturday, October 15th. Despite a two-goal effort by rookie defenseman Mario Scalzo, the Stars were defeated by the Rivermen, 7-4.

The Stars registered the first goal of the game for the first time this season when Toby Petersen netted his second marker of the young season at 10:08 of the first frame, before Scalzo potted his first two as a professional. Janos Vas picked-up assists on the Petersen and Scalzo's first goal. Rookie defensemen Matt Greene brought the Stars to within two goals, before the Rivermen scored an empty net goal to seal the victory.

Goalie Mike Smith suffered the loss while making 30 saves.
