
Bears win at Rochester 5-3

HERSHEY gets it done on special teams with two power play goals and a short-handed tally to win for the first time this season over previously unbeaten Rochester 5-3.
HERSHEY took a 1-0 lead at the 11:12 mark of the first period when Graham Mink scored his second goal of the season. Tomas Fleischmann and Jared Aulin assisted on the goal, and then Fleischmann scored a short-handed goal at 16:15 of the first to give the BEARS a 2-0 lead heading into first intermission. Rochester outshot HERSHEY 14-7 in the first twenty minutes
In the second period, Rochester's Jason Pominville got the Amerks on the board with his first goal of the season at the 6:52 mark. Mink then scored his second of the game, and third of the season at the 10:48 mark to once again give HERSHEY a two-goal advantage. The Americans then countered on a power-play tally by Derek Roy at 13:06. Rochester finished the period with a 29-16 shot advantage, but trailed in the game 3-2.
HERSHEY tallied a goal in the third period at the 6:40 mark of the third when Jared Aulin scored his first of the season. Rochester rallied to pull within one when Michael Ryan scored his third of the campaign at 11:05, but the BEARS put it on ice when Brooks Laich scored on the man advantage at 17:42 of the third. Freddy Cassivi won his first game of the season for HERSHEY, making 34 saves.
The BEARS return home to face the Norfolk Admirals Saturday night at GIANT Center at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are available by visiting the GIANT Center box office, or by calling (717) 508-BEAR. Saturday's game will be broadcast only on 1490 AM WLPA, Pennlive.com and B2 Networks. HERSHEY'S only remaining home games this month are both next weekend when Hartford and Binghamton. The Wolf Pack visit for the only time this season next Saturday, October 22 at 7:00 p.m.
