Salt Lake City Stars News Release
SALT LAKE CITY - The Salt Lake City Stars, the official NBA G League affiliate of the Utah Jazz, will return to Salt Lake City for a three-game homestand beginning on Tuesday, Dec. 11. The game, which is presented by AT&T SportsNet, will tip off at 7 p.m. (MT) at Bruin Arena against the Austin Spurs. The Stars have played nine of the season's first 14 games on the road.
The three-game homestand continues with a date against the Northern Arizona Suns on Thursday, Dec. 13, at Vivint Smart Home Arena, home of the Utah Jazz, at 7 p.m. (MT). It marks the Stars' second game at Vivint Smart Home Arena this season following a 106-96 victory against the Texas Legends in the team's home opener on Nov. 6. The game, which is presented by America First Credit Union, will feature autographs with two Utah Jazz players pregame, an appearance by Santa and Mrs. Claus, and festivities to celebrate the birthday of the Stars' mascot, Buster, with Jazz Bear and friends. The entire Stars team will be available for autographs following the game.
The Stars' third and final game of the homestand is "Princess Night presented by Nu Skin," which tips off on Saturday, Dec. 15, against the Stockton Kings at Bruin Arena at 7 p.m. (MT). The first 300 fans in attendance will receive a Salt Lake City Stars light-up tiara, and princess characters will be on hand for photos and autographs with all fans in attendance.
The first two contests of the homestand will be broadcast live on ESPN+, and the game on Dec. 15 will be broadcast on Facebook Live, which can be accessed via the Salt Lake City Stars Facebook page.
All Stars home games this season include inflatables, pop-a-shot, face painters and balloon artists in the Kids Zone, presented by University of Utah Health, as well as appearances by Buster and a rotation that includes the Jazz Dancers, Jazz Dunk Team or Jazz Stunt Team.
The Stars own a 3-2 (.600) record at home this season. The roster is highlighted by Utah Jazz two-way players Tyler Cavanaugh and Naz Mitrou-Long, who will continue to split their time between the Jazz and Stars this season. Jazz players who have suited up with the Stars on assignment this season include Grayson Allen, Tony Bradley and Georges Niang. Willie Reed, the No. 1 overall selection in the 2018 NBA G League Draft and a three-year NBA veteran, is averaging a double-double with 21.9 points and 11.9 rebounds per game, and he ranks second in the league in field goal percentage this season (.701).
