NEWARK, Del. - The Oklahoma City Blue (11-3) fell to the Delaware Blue Coats (6-8), 115-114, on Monday night.
With five seconds left in the game, the Blue Coats' Haywood Highsmith grabbed an offensive rebound and scored on a floater to give Delaware its first lead of the second half. Scotty Hopson's attempt on the other end rimmed out, as the Blue's five-game win streak came to an end.
Hopson scored 17 points and added five rebounds and four assists, as he was one of seven people in double figures for the Blue. Highsmith led Delaware with 23 points and six rebounds.
The Blue led by as many as 20 points in the game. Oklahoma City closed out the third quarter on a 10-2 run, sparked by a three-pointer from Bryce Alford, and led 97-80 heading into the final frame.
Alford tallied 20 points on 7-16 shooting from the field, including 5-10 from beyond the arc, four rebounds and three assists.
Donte Grantham was the leading rebounder for the Blue, tallying 11 rebounds along with 22 points for his first double-double in his first start of the season. Richard Solomon also recorded a double-double, with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
The Blue outrebounded the Blue Coats, 48-32, and outscored them in the paint 56-52.
Oklahoma City wraps its road trip at the Raptors 905 in the Paramount Fine Foods Centre in Mississauga, Ontario on Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m.
