SALT LAKE CITY - The Salt Lake City Stars, the official NBA G League affiliate of the Utah Jazz, announced today the acquisition of forward CJ Elleby from the available player pool.
Elleby (6-6, 200, Washington State) comes to the Stars with 64 games (60 starts) of collegiate experience (2018-20), 88 games (28 starts) of NBA experience, and 28 games (nine starts) of G League experience. The 22-year-old guard was drafted as the 46th pick in the 2020 NBA Draft by the Portland Trail Blazers, owning career averages of 4.6 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.1 assists, during his two-years with the Blazers (2020-22).
Most recently, the Washington native appeared in 10 games (4 starts) for the Iowa Wolves, averaging 13.1 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 2.7 assists during this regular season (2022-23).
During his collegiate career, he averaged 16.6 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 2.4 assists, ranking the fifth-best scoring average in school history.
The Stars will host the Wisconsin Herd (Milwaukee Bucks affiliate) on Monday, Feb. 27 and Tuesday, Feb. 28 at the Maverik Center in West Valley City.
