Herd Hijack Legends' Comeback

FRISCO, TX - The Texas Legends (6-13) battled back from a 17-point deficit but dropped a heartbreaker in the final seconds to the Wisconsin Herd (7-14) 122-123.

The Herd opened with a 19-2 run in the first four minutes and held the lead through three quarters. Facing a five-point deficit in the fourth, Texas opened with an 8-2 run to take their first lead of the night, but the Herd responded with a 10-point streak to extend the gap to 9. With 2:21 left to play, AJ Lawson cut Texas' deficit to 1, and the two teams exchanged baskets until the buzzer. McKinley Wright IV sank both free throws to put Texas on top, but the Herd had 7 seconds and Iverson Molinar drove in for the final make of the night.

Grant Riller finished 13-of-22 off the bench to lead Texas with 27 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal, and 2 blocks. AJ Lawson added 26 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 assists, and McKinley Wright matched his 26 while grabbing 7 rebounds and dishing 9 assists. Justin Jackson grabbed 13 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 steals in his Texas debut, and Yudai Baba knocked down 3-of-3 outside for 11 points off the bench.

Alize Johnson powered out a triple-double of 19 points, 19 rebounds, and 10 assists. Lindell Wiggington led all scorers with 29 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 assists, and Rob Edwards (15 points, 10 rebounds) and Jontay Porter (10 points, 12 rebounds) each added double-doubles.
