
Stanley Cup Champion Added to Comets Roster

Utica Comets Director of Hockey Operations, Pat Conacher, announced today that the Canucks have signed Stanley Cup winning defenseman Kent Huskins, and center Mitch Wahl to professional tryout contracts (PTO). In addition, he also announced that the Canucks have reassigned defenseman Adam Polasek from the Kalamazoo Wings of the ECHL to the Utica Comets.
Kent Huskins, 34, has recorded 68 points (13-55-68) in 318 National Hockey League games with the Anaheim Ducks, San Jose Sharks, St. Louis Blues, Detroit Red Wings and Philadelphia Flyers. He was a member of the 2006-07 Stanley Cup Champion Anaheim Ducks team. The Almonte, ON native has appeared in 410 American Hockey League games and has notched 124 points (30-94-124) and 264 penalty minutes with the Norfolk Admirals, San Antonio Rampage, Manitoba Moose, and Portland Pirates. Huskins currently owns a +36 rating in the AHL.
The 6-foot-4, 209 lb defenseman was drafted in the 6th round (156th overall) by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft.
This season Polasek has recorded one point (1-0-1) in three games this season for the Kalamazoo Wings of the ECHL. He split the 2012-13 season between the American Hockey League and the ECHL. The Ostrava, Czechoslovakia native netted eight points (1-7-8), and 27 penalty minutes in 24 games with the American Hockey League's Chicago Wolves last year, and another eight points (4-4-8) with the ECHL's Kalamazoo Wings.
Polasek was drafted in the fifth round (145th overall) by the Vancouver Canucks in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
Mitch Wahl, 23, has recorded five points (1-4-5) in five games with the Idaho Steelheads of the ECHL this season. In 69 AHL games, Wahl has netted 19 points (6-13-19) with the Abbotsford Heat, and the Adirondack Phantoms. The Seal Beach, CA native notched 104 points (40-64-104) in 88 career ECHL games for the Utah Grizzlies, and Idaho Steelheads.
The 6-foot, 190 lb. center was drafted in the second round (48th overall) by the Calgary Flames in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
