Iowa Wild News Release
Des Moines, IA - The Iowa Wild, in conjunction with Atlantic Bottling Company, announced on Tuesday the Wild's Healthy Living Floor Hockey Program.
"Our partnership with Atlantic Bottling Company allows us an opportunity to expand our brand in the greater Des Moines area by donating hockey jerseys and equipment to local schools for their physical education programs", said Iowa Wild President Todd Frederickson. "We would like to teach the students the basics of the game, encourage teamwork and help them stay physically active as part of a healthy living initiative."
The Wild's program provides Des Moines Area schools with the resources (jerseys, equipment) to execute a floor hockey program within their physical education classes at no cost. The program also gives students an opportunity to attend an Iowa Wild home game for free after learning the basics of the game.
Up to 50 Des Moines schools will have the opportunity to participate in the program. Each school that is selected will receive a set of Iowa Wild jerseys and an equipment set needed to initiate a floor hockey program in January. Once the program is completed, each participating student will receive a certificate of completion and a free ticket to an Iowa Wild home game. The student's family and friends may join them at the game by purchasing tickets at a discounted rate.
Schools may sign up on the team's website, iowawild.com by clicking on the community tab link and selecting the School Floor hockey program page.
The Wild will play two games in Rockford, starting on Friday, Nov. 8 and concluding on Saturday, Nov. 9. Both games are scheduled for a 7 PM faceoff at the BMO Harris Bank Arena. Iowa returns for a six-game homestand, which begins on Wednesday, Nov. 13 at 7:05 PM against the Chicago Wolves. The Wild will also welcome San Antonio on Friday, Nov. 15 at 7:05 PM. Friday night's game is a $2.00 Beer Night, featuring $2.00 ten-ounce drafts, presented by 100.3 The Bus. Fans are encouraged to bring new or gently used winter coats for the team's Coat drive, presented by G & L Clothing. Fans who make a donation will be rewarded with tickets to an upcoming Iowa Wild home game. The team will conclude a weekend set with Youth Sports Night on Saturday, Nov. 16 with the Milwaukee Admirals at 7:05 PM. The first 1,500 fans (12 and under) will be given an Iowa Wild Youth Jersey. Fans may purchase the Subway Family Four Pack for the game, which features four tickets, four hot dogs, four sodas and Subway coupons starting at $44.
Fans may purchase single game tickets multiple ways, either through the team's website - www.iowawild.com, Wells Fargo Arena box office or Dahl's Ticketing.
