BOISE, ID - The Reno Bighorns came out strong and defeated the Idaho Stampede 110-93.
Reno's Cezary Trybanski came off the bench on fire to score a game high 29 points and 15 rebounds. The Bighorns Doug Thomas also had a double-double with 16 rebounds and 12 points. Reno ended the contest with three other players scoring in double figures including Russell Robinson with 20, Desmon Farmer with 15 and Dave Noel with 13 points.
"We had a hard fought game and lately we have been struggling," said Bighorns Head Coach Jay Humphries. "The Stampede gave a great effort considering the many roster moves they have made recently."
The Idaho Stampede welcomed back two familiar faces to the court, Coby Karl and Lance Allred. Coby contributed 13 points and five rebounds while Allred had nine points and nine boards. Idaho finished the game with two double-doubles including Anthony Tolliver with 17 points and 12 rebounds and Donell Taylor with 19 points and 13 rebounds.
"I felt like they took control of the game especially in the second half," said Stampede Head Coach Bob MacKinnon. "We fought hard but weren't able to come back against such a good team."
The Stampede will get another chance to take on the Bighorns as they both face off again tomorrow night at Qwest Arena in Boise.
