Stampede Stopped by the Warriors

BOISE, Idaho - The Idaho Stampede (20-17) fell to the Santa Cruz Warriors (21-15) Saturday night at CenturyLink Arena, 103-95.

The Stampede took an 11-point lead heading into the fourth and final quarter, but the Warriors came out with a 9-0 run to bring the score to 81-79. Santa Cruz took its first lead of the quarter with 5:23 remaining in the game thanks to a Seth Curry lay-up. The Warriors never looked back, pushing their lead to 10 points en route to a 103-95 victory. Santa Cruz outscored Idaho 33-14 in the final frame.

Kevin Murphy led all scorers with 30 points while adding seven rebounds. Dee Bost added 19 points, eight assists and six rebounds. Derrick Caracter posted his first double-double of the season with 18 points and 11 rebounds.

Cameron Jones led Santa Cruz with 27 points with nine of them coming in the fourth quarter. Dominic McGuire added 21 points and seven rebounds. Santa Cruz shot 52 percent in the fourth period while Idaho only shot 31 percent.

Santa Cruz (March 3) and Idaho (March 7) each play their next game in Reno.
