Stampede Re-Acquire Walker, Add Derrick Caracter

BOISE, Idaho, March 30, 2012 - The Idaho Stampede have re-acquired Antoine Walker (6-9, 245, Kentucky) and acquired Derrick Caracter (6-9, 275, UTEP), the club announced today.

Walker (b. 8/12/1976) was waived due to personal reasons before the March 23 game against Fort Wayne. This season, Walker has played in 40 games (17 starts) and is averaging 9.9 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game. Walker played 43 games (39 starts) with the Stampede in 2010-11, averaging 16.0 points, 6.3 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 33.4 minutes per game.

Caracter (b. 5/4/1988) has played for the Los Angeles D-Fenders (4 games, 1 start) and Rio Grande Valley Vipers (5 games, 2 starts) this season and is averaging 13.1 points and 6.3 rebounds per game this year. Caracter has played 41 games in his NBA career, all of them coming with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2010-11. He averaged 2.0 points and 1.0 rebounds per game in 5.2 minutes per game. Caracter attended Louisville from 2006-08 before transferring to the University of Texas-El Paso. He averaged 14.1 points and 8.1 rebounds per game at UTEP in 2009-10, before being drafted 58th overall in the 2010 NBA Draft. He will wear jersey No. 41.

In order to make room on the roster, the Stampede waived Tony Bobbitt due to injury and Chris Davis due to personal reasons.
