Bighorns Defeat Stampede

RENO, Nevada - Marcus Banks scored 36 points, a high for any member of the Idaho Stampede this season, but the Reno Bighorns beat the Stampede 124-92.

Banks was 11-of-17 from the field, 6-of-8 from behind the three-point line and 8-of-11 from the free throw line and added four assists in the loss for Idaho (18-29). Seth Tarver was the only other Stampeder to reach double-figures with 10 points and five rebounds. Idaho was out-rebounded 47-36 and shot just 38.3 percent from the field in the loss. Idaho shot 29.2 percent from the three-point line and committed 17 turnovers.

Reno (20-26) shot 58.7 percent from the floor and made 10-of-23 three-pointers in the game; the Bighorns led 68-44 at the half, having shot 61.0 percent from the floor in the first two quarters, as they forced Idaho into 12 turnovers, which led to 14 points. The Bighorns had 17 fast-break points at the half.

Idaho plays Reno again this Sunday at 4 p.m. (MST).
