Erie BayHawks News Release
Erie, Pennsylvania, Friday, March 30 - The Erie BayHawks received a big assist on Friday as the team re-acquired veteran guard Keith McLeod. Erie is fighting for a playoff spot in the cramped NBA Development League standings and McLeod figures to provide a boost to their playoff hopes.
McLeod (6-2, 180) was released by the BayHawks, due to injury on March 15 after playing nine games in an Erie uniform. During those nine games, he averaged 14.9 points, 6.2 assists and 1.8 rebounds for the BayHawks. He was acquired on January 25 from the Canton Charge in a three team deal that also included the Idaho Stampede.
The 32 year old has seen action with four NBA teams (Minnesota, Utah, Golden State and Indiana) over the course of his career. He also participated in training camp with the Utah Jazz this past season. To make room on the roster, Erie released forward Sharrod Ford, due to injury.
Erie returns to action tonight as they will host the Fort Wayne Mad Ants in a two game weekend set. Tonight is Faith and Family Night, presented by Saint Vincent and WCTL and will feature a halftime wedding. The BayHawks will kick off NBA Green Week with a green t-shirt giveaway on Saturday, courtesy of Erie County Recycling.
