Stampede Gives During Season of Giving

BOISE, Idaho, January 7, 2014 - The Idaho Stampede took part of the NBA Cares Season of Giving, which went on from Monday, November 25 until Tuesday, December 31.
"Since our inception, our team has always given back to the community," Team President Steve Brandes said. "Being able to utilize the league-wide Season of Giving platform was a natural fit to positively impact our community during the holiday season."
Below are the highlights of the Stampede's Season of Giving.
- The Idaho Stampede Community Foundation, in conjunction with Cummins Rocky Mountain, Gary Multanen and Best Bath Systems, donated $11,500 to Hope House, Inc. Hope House is a home provided for children who are emotionally impaired, developmentally disabled, and/or come from dysfunctional families.
- Kim Trout of Trout Law and Brian King of RBC Dain Rauscher teamed up with the Idaho Stampede Community Foundation and other owners of the Stampede to donate 3,500 pounds of food to The Idaho Food Bank through KTVB's Cares Day on December 7.
- 260 foster families received a donation of 1,040 tickets for the Stampede's game on December 27 courtesy of Stampede season ticket holders and the Stampede ownership group. The families were identified through the Idaho Department of Health as well as the Soroptimist International of Boise.
- The Boys & Girls Club of Ada County received a donation of $3,300 to help refurbish the gym floor. The Boys and Girls Club helps over 4,000 Ada County youth by giving them the tools needed to grow into responsible, productive and caring adults.
- On December 4, Coach Michael Peck and the team put on a free basketball clinic at the Mountain Home Air Force Base for the children of those who serve our country. These military families will be honored on Saturday, January 11 on Military Appreciation night.
