Lincoln, Neb. - The Stars outshot the Stampede, 37-22, but fell 2-0 in the Ice Box on Saturday night.
Sioux Falls opened the scoring at 5:21 of the first period when Eric MacAdams capitalized on a turnover in the Stars defensive zone and ripped a wrist shot past Stars goalie Peyton Jones.
The Stampede carried a 1-0 lead into the first intermission despite being outshot 17-6.
Lincoln continued the pressure in the second but was unable to crack Sioux Falls goalie Stefanos Lekkas who made 12 saves in the period.
The third period carried the same theme as the Stars were held scoreless despite getting the majority of the scoring chances.
Josh Passolt iced the game with an empty netter at 19:58 of the third period.
Lekkas finished with 37 saves. Jones made 20.
