Capitols out for Payback against Gerard & Jacks
April 2, 2016 - United States Hockey League (USHL)
Madison Capitols News Release
Madison, WI - The Madison Capitols (24-25-5-3) get a quick turnaround and a chance at revenge against the Muskegon Lumberjacks (26-23-3-4) on Saturday at the Alliant Energy Center at 7:05.
Ex-Capitol Charlie Gerard was a menace to his old team in his first game back in Madison on Friday, scoring four times in leading Muskegon to a 7-1 triumph. Rem Pitlick, Matej Paulovic, and Collin Adams also scored for the Lumberjacks in the victory, their third in five meetings against the Capitols this season.
It was not a fun night to be a Capitols' goaltender, as Daniel Lebedeff and Ryan Edquist each got pulled from the game during the Muskegon onslaught.
Marcel Godbout tallied in the defeat for the Capitols, scoring his team-best 22nd goal of the season in the second period on Friday.
The loss was the first for the Capitols at the Coliseum since Jan.16 against the Green Bay Gamblers, a stretch of seven games. Madison has now lost two in a row, as they continue to chase what would be a franchise record for wins in a season with one more victory.
Family 4-Packs will make their last appearance of the season for tonight's game. Fans can purchase four tickets, four hot dogs, four sodas, and four bags of chips all for just $48. Packages are only available via pre-sale and will not be sold on game night at the Alliant Energy Center box office. The offer expires at 2 p.m. today.
The Capitols close out their home campaign next Friday, April 8 at the Coliseum against the Bloomington Thunder at 7:05 p.m.
