BAKERSFIELD, California - The Idaho Stampede fell to the Bakersfield Jam (2-4) on the second game of their four-game road trip in the Jam Events Center Friday night by the score of 125-111.
Carlos Wheeler again topped 20 points, with 18 of his 24 coming in the second half. He added 12 rebounds and five assists to account for his first double-double as a Stampeder. Lance Hurdle added 18 points, seven assists, two steals and five rebounds off the bench for Randy Livingston's squad.
The second half again did in Idaho, as they allowed 57.1 percent shooting by the Jam as the home team scored 68 points in the third and fourth quarters - the game was tied at 57 at halftime. The Jam went on a 10-0 run stretching from the 10:48 left in the fourth quarter until the 9:16 mark to give them a lead they would not relinquish.
Starting guards Trey Johnson (29 points, seven assists, five rebounds) and Jeremy Wise (28 points, nine assists, four rebounds) led the attack for the Jam, who had six players score in double figures.
The Stampede face off against the Jam tomorrow at 8 p.m. (MT) at the Jam Events Center.
