
Skyforce Hands Bighorns First Loss

SIOUX FALLS, S.D., Dec. 4 - The Sioux Falls Skyforce defeated the Reno Bighorns 91-84 at the Sioux Falls Arena on Saturday night. Raymond Sykes scored 11 of his season-high 17 points in the fourth quarter as the Skyforce held off the previously undefeated Bighorns.
Sioux Falls (2-5) trailed for much of the first half before some back and forth action late in the second quarter. Anthony Mason, Jr.'s three-point play with 1:15 remaining in the second quarter fueled an 11-0 run by the Skyforce that bridged the second and third quarters.
Reno (6-1) would not go away quietly as they cut the deficit to three points (77-74) with 6:40 in the fourth quarter after trailing by as many as 20 points midway through the third quarter. Sykes scored eight straight points late in the fourth quarter to help the Skyforce pick up their first home win of the young season.
Wink Adams joined Sykes with 17 points followed by Mason, Jr. with 13. Anwar Ferguson added a season-high seven points on 3-of-3 field goals and an emphatic block that sparked a 12-2 run in the early stages of the third quarter.
DJ Strawberry posted a game high 21 points to lead the Bighorns scoring attack. Aaron Miles had 14 points and eight assists followed by Marcus Landry with 12 points.
Sioux Falls hosts Austin on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. CT. Reno returns home to face Rio Grande Valley on Friday at 7 p.m. PT.
