The Trenton Thunder, Double-A affiliate of the New York Yankees, announced Tuesday that starting shortstop Walter Ibarra has been placed on the disabled list with an abdominal injury. Outfielder Shane Brown has rejoined the team from the Staten Island roster.
Ibarra started the first 11 games of the season and batted .310 with four RBI. He was removed in the middle of Monday night's game after suffering the injury. Brown played in two games for the Thunder last week, once as an emergency pitcher and once as a starting DH.
