Spurs Fall Short to the Swarm

AUSTIN - The Austin Spurs (8-22) fell to the Greensboro Swarm (10-19), 124-127, at the AT&T Center on Saturday night.

Brandon Randolph led in points for Austin notching 24 points. Julian Champagnie added 20 points and 8 rebounds. Galen Robinson Jr. earned a double-double with 14 points and 10 assists.

The Swarm took the lead in the first frame, as they shot 63.6% from the field, outscoring the Spurs, 42-28. Greensboro kept the momentum going in the second quarter as guard James Bouknight scored 31 points to push the Swarm ahead at the end of the first half, 73-59. The Spurs fought back in the third going on a 20-7 run with 6:47 remaining, as they shot 55.6% from the field to outscore Greensboro 42-26 to take the lead, 101-99. The last frame got intense with the game being tied four times, with the last tie being 124 all with 1:02 left but it was Swarm guard Jaylen Sims who hit two free throws with 12.3 seconds left to push Greensboro to victory.

Bouknight led the Swarm with a career high of 44 points and 10 rebounds. Trevon Scott added 18 points and 6 rebounds. Ashton Hagans chipped 14 points in Greensboro's win.

The Spurs are set to face the Salt Lake City Stars on Tuesday, March 21 at the Vivint Arena with tipoff at 8 p.m.
