The Sioux Falls Skyforce comes into the final road regular season game on a three-game winning streak, as the team swept G League Ignite on Wednesday and Thursday before making a return to face the Stockton Kings.
Mychal Mulder powered the Force with a season-high 40 points on 12-21 FGA (9-16 3PA) and a game-high plus-34 plus-minus. HEAT two-way player Orlando Robinson and Justin Champagnie combined for 47 points 14-26 FGA and 12 rebounds. Jamaree Bouyea added 19 points and 12 assists, while HEAT assignee Nikola Jović rounded out top scorers with 15 points, four rebounds and four assists in 23:07 minutes off the bench.
In back-to-back games, Sioux Falls scored a combined 60 points off 44 Ignite turnovers.
Sioux Falls gave Stockton its first defeat of the regular season on 1/9, when Bouyea led the Force to a 112-104 comeback victory, in which they slashed a 15-point second half deficit. Mulder chipped in 25 points in the effort. Since, then the Kings are 8-1 at home and have won eight-straight games, which currently is the longest active streak in the NBA G League.
Both Sacramento Kings two-way players Keon Ellis and Neemy Queta are expected to be with Stockton tonight. Queta leads the team with 17.0 points on 68.7 percent shooting and 8.9 rebounds. Ellis is right behind him with 16.9 points, 5.1 rebounds and 3.9 assists.
A victory tonight in Stockton would push the Skyforce to a tie for the fourth seed, leaping the Salt Lake City Stars and Mexico City Capitanes. The Force would move a half game ahead of the Stars and they own the head-to-head versus the Capitanes with a 118-109 victory on 2/3. Salt Lake City hosts the South Bay Lakers (20-9), while Mexico City plays the Birmingham Squadron (9-19). Both games will be played tomorrow (Sunday).
Sioux Falls wraps up the regular season on Friday and Saturday, with a back-to-back against the Memphis Hustle (20-7). Tip-off from the Sanford Pentagon is slated for 7:00 PM CST.
