COLLEGE PARK, Ga. - The College Park Skyhawks (15-14) were defeated by the Grand Rapids Gold (9-21), 102-93, in the second game of a two-game series at the Gateway Center Arena on Friday night.
The Skyhawks were led by two-way guard Trent Forrest, who pitched in 20 points, seven assists and six rebounds after scoring a career-high 27 points on Friday night. Chris Silva also tallied his team-leading 14th double-double of the season with 19 points and 10 rebounds.
The Skyhawks tied a team record in any quarter with eight steals in the first quarter, but dropped the opening period 25-20. The last time the Skyhawks swiped eight steals as a team in a quarter was in the fourth quarter of Nov. 21, 2019 vs. DEL.
The Gold took a 54-47 lead into the locker room at halftime behind 21 points from Jack White. For College Park, Silva led the team at the break with 11 points and six rebounds after missing Friday night's game due to personal reasons. Forrest chipped in 10 points and six rebounds in the first half.
The Skyhawks trailed the Gold, 81-71 going into the fourth quarter. College Park outscored the Gold in the final frame, 22-21, but it was not enough and the team ultimately fell to the Gold in their final regular season home game.
The Gold were led 30 points and 11 rebounds by White, as well as 25 points off the bench by Justin Turner.
College Park will now hit the road for three games to end the season: Raptors 905 on Tuesday, March 21 (7:30 p.m. ET), Windy City Bulls on Thursday, March 23 (8 p.m. ET), and Birmingham Squadron on Saturday, March 25 (8 p.m. ET).
