Springfield Falcons Release Defenseman Steven Shamanski from PTO

Springfield, Mass. - The Springfield Falcons have released defenseman Steven Shamanski from his professional tryout contract, Falcons Director of Hockey Operations Bruce Landon announced today.

Shamanski, 25, appeared in one contest with the Falcons since signing a PTO on Feb. 14. The 6-foot, 195-pound defenseman has also skated in 48 contests with the Elmira Jackals of the ECHL this season, posting 11-17-28 in addition to 41 penalty minutes and a +5 rating. Additionally, Shamanski appeared in one game with the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League this season.

Prior to his professional career, the Carberry, Manitoba native spent four years at Providence College, tallying 11-25-36 to go along with 129 penalty minutes in 141 games. Shamanski also appeared in a career total of 180 Manitoba Junior Hockey League contests with the Dauphin Kings, earning 40-125-165 and accumulating 256 penalty minutes.
