Idaho Steelheads News Release

(Boise, ID) - Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Hardy Sauter announced Monday that goaltender Jimmy Spratt and forward Ian Lowe have been returned to the Idaho Steelheads by the Texas Stars of the American Hockey League.

Texas is Idaho's affiliate in the AHL, the highest level of minor-league hockey in North America. The two teams are the primary development affiliates of the NHL's Dallas Stars.

Spratt made two starts in Texas after being loaned to the Stars in late November. The Chesterfield, MI, product went 1-1 in his first AHL stint with a 2.02 goals-against average. Spratt is 5-5 with a .920 save percentage in 12 games so far this season with Idaho.

Lowe did not register a point in six games with Texas. Lowe, a rookie out of Bemidi State, has 19 points (seven goals, 12 assists) in 30 games with Idaho. Despite missing the past two weeks while making his first trip to the AHL, Lowe is still ranked in the ECHL's top twenty in scoring among rookies.

The Steelheads are on the road this weekend, facing the Utah Grizzlies on Friday and Saturday night at the Maverik Center in West Valley City, UT. The team returns home on January 24 and 25, hosting the Stockton Thunder at CenturyLink Arena in Boise.

Group outings at a Steelheads game are a great way to gather friends, colleagues, or co-workers for a fun night out in downtown Boise. Ticket prices are discounted and you can get a Pepsi, Double-R Ranch Hot Dog, and bag of Tim's Cascade Chips with each ticket. Contact the Steelheads front office at 208.383.0080 or log on to www.idahosteelheads.com for more information.
