Ontario rolls to six-game unbeaten streak

The Ontario Reign won all three of their games last week, outscoring their opponents 16-1 in the process, to extend their unbeaten streak to six games (5-0-1). Ontario sits in second place of the Pacific Division with a record of 18-12-3 for 39 points.

Ontario opened the week with a 6-0 win against Bakersfield on Tuesday. C.J. Stretch led the way offensively with two goals and an assist while Brady Calla (0g-2a), Derek Couture (0g-2a) and Kevin Estrada (1g-1a) each chipped in with two points. Jean-Francois Berube stopped all 15 Condors' shots to record his second shutout of the season.

Friday in Idaho, the Reign fired 41 shots on goal on their way to a 5-1 win over the Steelheads. Tristan King supplied three points (2g-1a) while Steven Tarasuk had a pair of assists for Ontario. Berube turned aside 25 shots to earn his second straight win.

The Reign ended the week with a 5-0 win against the Steelheads on Saturday. Five different players tallied goals for Ontario, and King notched his second straight two-point game with a goal and an assist. Chris Carrozzi stopped all 33 Idaho shots to record his second shutout of the season.

Stretch leads the Reign, and is tied for fifth in the league, with 38 points (16g-22a), while Berube and Carrozzi are tied for fifth among goaltenders with two shutouts. Tarasuk ranks seventh among defensemen with 21 points (3g-18a), and is third among blueliners with 11 power-play assists.

Ontario meets Las Vegas three times this week, hosting the Wranglers on Wednesday before heading to Las Vegas for games on Friday and Saturday. The Reign trail the Wranglers by seven points for the top spot in the Pacific Division.

ATLANTIC DIVISION

- Dustin Gazley has six points (3g-3a) in his last three games.

- The Jackals are on a team record nine-game winning streak.

- Elmira is at Reading on Friday and hosts South Carolina on Saturday and Trenton on Sunday.

- Yannick Riendeau is on a nine-game point streak (3g-10a).

- Reading leads the league with 11 road wins (11-5-3).

- The Royals host Elmira on Friday and are at Trenton on Saturday.

- Ryan Hayes leads the Titans with 25 points (9g-16a).

- The Titans are 8-2-4 when leading after two periods.

- Trenton hosts South Carolina on Friday and Reading on Saturday before traveling to Elmira on Sunday.

- Scooter Vaughan scored his first professional goal on Friday.

- Three of Wheeling's goals last week came during the first minute of a period, including two in Sunday's contest.

- The Nailers host Toledo on Wednesday, visit the Walleye on Friday, host Cincinnati on Saturday and are at Cincinnati on Sunday.

NORTH DIVISION

- Nathan Lutz played in his 600th professional game on Saturday.

- Chicago won in regulation on Saturday for the first time since Dec. 16.

- The Express are at Florida on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.

- Michael Pelech has 20 points (6g-14a) in 17 games with Cincinnati.

- The Cyclones are third with 32.97 shots per game.

- Cincinnati hosts Kalamazoo on Friday and Wheeling on Saturday.

- Bryan Haczyk is on a three-game goal streak.

- Kalamazoo has scored six or more goals in each of its last three games.

- The K-Wings host South Carolina on Wednesday, visit Cincinnati on Friday, host Toledo on Saturday and are at Toledo on Sunday.

- The Walleye have outscored opponents 28-26 in the first period.

- Rookie Forward Joey Martin has eight goals on the season.

- Toledo is at Wheeling on Wednesday, hosts the Nailers on Friday, is at Kalamazoo on Saturday and hosts the K-Wings on Sunday.

SOUTH DIVISION

- David Fischer is tied for second among defensemen with 19 assists.

- Florida is 12-4-1 when scoring first.

- The Everblades host Chicago on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.

- Connor Shields has recorded six points (3g-3a) in his last four games.

- The Road Warriors were 7-for-25 (28%) on the power play last week.

- Greenville hosts Gwinnett on Thursday and Friday and visits the Gladiators on Saturday.

- Jeff Jakaitis leads the league with a .942 save percentage.

- Gwinnett is 7-1-2 in its last 10 games.

- The Gladiators are at Greenville on Thursday and Friday and host the Road Warriors on Saturday.

- Philipp Grubauer is fourth among ECHL goaltenders with a 2.27 goals-against average

- The Stingrays are second on the penalty kill at 86.1 percent (143-for-166).

- South Carolina is at Kalamazoo on Wednesday, Trenton on Friday and Elmira on Saturday.

MOUNTAIN DIVISION

- The Aces have held 17 of their 36 opponents to less than two goals.

- Aaron Schneekloth (12g-19a) and Jon Landry (12g-17a) are the top two defensemen scorers in the league.

- The Eagles host Utah on Wednesday and are at Bakersfield on Friday and Saturday.

- Jerry Kuhn leads the league with 898 saves.

- The Steelheads are 12-3-3 when scoring first.

- Andrew Engelage is ninth with a 2.65 goals-against average.
