(Windsor, ON) - LaSalle native Daniel Beaudoin has agreed to an OHL player and education package with the club, general manager Warren Rychel announced today.
Beaudoin, 19, entered training camp as a longshot invite after playing a key role with the LaSalle Vipers of the GOJHL over the last two seasons.
He compiled 35 goals and 46 assists in 90 regular season games played during the 2013-14 and 2014-15 seasons, adding 16 goals and 16 assists in 29 playoff games last season.
Rychel says Beaudoin's play and overall work ethic made him a standout at camp.
"This is a great story," Rychel said. "Daniel came into camp and impressed coaches and management with his solid, straightforward approach to the game. He's a great addition and will be a character player for us."
AUGER SENT TO LASALLE
Rychel also announced today defenceman Kyle Auger has been optioned to the Vipers.
A 2nd round pick in April, the talented Thunder Bay native is largely a victim of numbers.
"He had an excellent camp," Rychel said. "Right now, with our club having a full roster of returning defencemen, he's better off developing in LaSalle, playing big minutes. Everyone knows he'll be a big part of the future here."
EIGHT SPITS HEAD TO CAMPS
Patrick Sanvido (Dallas), Jalen Chatfield (Detroit), Liam Murray (St. Louis), Christian Fischer (Phoenix), Cristiano DiGiacinto (Tampa Bay), Trevor Murphy (Nashville), Bradley Latour (Toronto) and Hayden McCool (Chicago) are all headed to NHL prospects camps this week.
