Saginaw Spirit News Release

SAGINAW, MI - On Thursday, the Saginaw Spirit announced the dates of their 2015-16 Training Camp.

Beginning Monday, August 31 at 10:00am, the Spirit will hit the ice for the first time at the Dow Event Center this season. The Spirit will also scrimmage at 5:00pm on Monday. Both on-ice sessions will be open to the public and free of charge. Tuesday, September 1st the Spirit will hold one on-ice session beginning at 10:00am. This scrimmage will be open to the public and free of charge, as well.

"The coaching staff and management are really looking forward to this seasons training camp. Every year is new and exciting and this year is no different. Players report to camp after a summer of training and hard work looking to impress from the start and hit the ground running. As a staff it gives us a great opportunity to view the players with a clean slate and see who is pushing for bigger roles or to earn a spot on the team. We expect the scrimmages to be played a very high tempo with each and every player, new and old, looking to make their mark on the 2015-2016 season." said Spirit General Manager David Drinkill.

Friday, September 4th the Spirit will take on their arch-rival the Flint Firebirds at the Dow Event Center for the team's first exhibition tilt. Fans can purchase exhibition game tickets for $7.00 general admission seating. We encourage our fans to take advantage of the opportunity to see your Spirit take the ice before opening night on September 24th vs. Flint.

Drinkill added, "It is always great to have fan support at the camp and I am hoping we have a good turnout this year. This is a great way to start the week heading into our first exhibition game on September 4th."

Tickets for the preseason game versus the Firebirds are on sale now in person at the Spirit store, or charge by phone (989) 497-7747, and also on www.saginawspirit.com.
