Soo Greyhounds General Manager Kyle Raftis announced this afternoon the addition of AARON MADGETT to the club in the position of Athletic Therapist.

"We are thrilled to officially add Aaron staff today. Through Aaron's knowledge and passion in working with elite student athletes we believe he will be a great addition to our organization. We look forward to working with Aaron in providing the type of environment for our players to maximize their potential and develop every day both on and off the ice" stated Raftis

The Sturgeon Falls, ON native most recently worked (2014-15) as the Head Athletic Therapist and Equipment Manager of the Olds Grizzlies (AJHL).

During the off-season he developed his own out of season off-ice strength and conditioning business for elite level Bantam, Midget, and Junior hockey players.

His philosophies are preventative in nature and utilize the neural development model which include injury prevention/correction, functional movement/mobility, and high performance training, starting from the ground up.

"I would like to thank Bret Hopfe, Dana Lattery, Joel Hunter and the rest of the Olds Grizzlys organization and the Town of Olds for giving me the opportunity to succeed and making my time a memorable one" began Madgett.

Prior to his work in Olds, Aaron also spent time as a movement therapist with Concept of Movement which helped mold his philosophies on Athletic Strength and Conditioning while he also was an Assistant Therapist with the OHL's Barrie Colts.

Aaron's passion for sports, injuries, and strength and conditioning saw him complete his Bachelor of Applied Health Science in Athletic Therapy, and become a CAT(C) Certified Athletic Therapist in 2012.

"I am excited to be a part of such a storied organization, to serve as the Soo Greyhounds new Athletic Therapist is a huge honour. I am excited to be part of the group that will help these young hockey player's development and be in charge of injury prevention, and keeping the high level athletes on the ice" concluded Aaron.

Aaron, and the rest of the Hounds staff continue to prepare for the start of Training Camp 2015 which begins with 98 and 99 birth year players, and free agents, this coming Monday.
